Because I was feeling a little blue tonight, two nice plush from StrangeCo and the MoMa, designed by Goran Lelas.

The blue one, Memo Wee is a doctor of memory retrieval and a part time horn player, the pink one, Oink Le Rouge, is a famous actor and a real city kid.

The cuddly guys exist in vinyl version too and are accompanied by four friends: Club Tarn, Luna Una Oy, Kay’o My Plus and Titonos Nos.

Every good little geek needs at least 1 5 10, USB Flash Drives. But why settle for the classic ones when we can have a mimobot? What’s that? A fun USB Flash Drive designed by, hum…, a designer. An urban one… Whatever, let just say that mimobots are designer toys with a purpose. Better?

The idea is the same: small quantities and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

Jack Long

I love Jack Long’s strange and soft coloured universe, with its villages/flowers.

Painting in oils on wood, his work shares a dreamlike palette with the Northern Renaissance painters Pieter Bruegel the Elder and Hieronymus Bosch . His paintings also draw heavily upon the tradition of storytelling, utilizing motifs and imagery found in mythology and fairytales.

Joe Average

Joe Average is well known among the vancouverites, or at least, his art is. He is indeed the one who designed the Davie’s flags. The ones representing the GLBT community. And you can see some of his work on Granville Island too, around the Cat’s Meow and of course in numerous galleries.

I was diagnosed in 1985 at age 27, but I’m 99% sure I contracted HIV when I was 25. When I asked the doctor what it meant, he said: “You could last six months, you could last a year, five years, 10 years or forever … we just don’t know.” And I said: “I’ll choose forever.”

So, you already know I love icons. But there’s something I love more: Free for personal and commercial icons in big resolutions that let you use them as illustrations. Fast Icon provide that kind of treasure under a linkware licence. Can we really ask for more? I don’t think so.

Spookypop: The art of Doktor A.

Doktor A. is a mad mad genius. His paints, digital work, sculptures and customized toys seem to take their references from Tim Burton and the steampunk.

I’m always blown away when the Doktor customizes a new designer toy. His style is very distinctive and it’s easy to say that each of his work is a labour of love. No easy camouflage here but a real story.
