The Great Gatsby illust. by Nicki Greenberg
A good surprise found at Chapters. The very unusual cover catched my eye. That’s not how I imagined the personages of Francis Scott Fitzgerald, but eh, why not? I loved them immediately, as well as I loved the format of the book, an old photo album. It suits the melancholy of the novel.
The biography of Nicki Greenberg, the illustrator, says she was seventeen, when she fell in love with The Great Gatsby. Almost ten years later, she set out to pay tribute to F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel by interpreting it in comic art form. It took more than six years to complete this enormous labour of love.
